It does indeed rain in Indiana (with apologies to Bobby Goldsboro)

Today was a rainy day in Indianapolis so after a very late start (yes we had breakfast at noon) we headed out to do some shopping.  I have to say we had a very good time – Warren is a very fun shopping companion and I am, indeed, very spoiled.  When we were all done, we decided to go downtown and explore the square again.  It was far less busy today in the early afternoon and we were able to find parking and visit the monument on foot.  It is a spectacular thing and the detail is amazing – such craftsmanship.  We’ve added a slideshow of our pictures below.

After exploring the downtown we decided tonight was the night for Bar-B-Que.  It is quite different than what we might pull off the barbecue here which apparently is called ‘grilling’ here.  We went to King Ribs Bar B Que and got the Sunday Rib Dinner… Omg it was good.  Four big rib bones, baked beans and coleslaw  – it was messy and delicious.  I have it on good authority that by the time our trip is done, we will have tried out all the different variations of BBQ that can be had.  I can’t wait  🙂IMG_0696

Tomorrow we are heading out to the Indianapolis Speedway and will be visiting the museum and maybe, if we are lucky, doing a lap around the track!  Stay tuned for tomorrow’s adventures!!
